Picasso, Sydney Festival and Tai Chi

What a smorgasbord of experiences Sydney is offering me this week. Starting yesterday with the Picasso exhibition, a sort of retrospective of his work and life, (with some significant gaps), but glimpses into his artistic thinking and development. Truly inspirational, as one of the great masters is honoured.

Last night was the Magic Flute at the Opera House - puppets, dancers, masks, stilt walkers, amazing sets, and opera singers all in one show...check out the link for images

Today, a morning in Manly enjoying the sunshine, the landscapes, and a wonderful exhibition at the Manly Art Gallery: the Narrative Knot.

Then onto the opening of the Sydney Festival. The highlight for me was the ballet/dance/acrobatics on a vertical wall called As the World Tipped, quite remarkable performance art.

Gurrumul voice drifted over the Domain, and he sung so beautifully, but he was so hard to hear with poor sound production, and I felt sad that most of the audience just chatted through his wonderful concert (this would not have happened at Woodford or WOMAD).

Tomorrow I start a week of Tai Chi walking meditation, complete contrast to the last 2 days, but a time to reflect, dream and imagine.
