DependentsWhat an opening... no room to move. So many old (and new) friends. The 12 ArtMakers Noosa artists buzzed all evening... and are still buzzing.
My work in this exhibition was called CONNECTED. It was created in response to the sculptural work of artists from the Pacific Islands and Northern Territory after a trip up north late last year. The indigenous artists' use of wood wrapped with natural fibres underscores this work, however I wrap terracotta clay figures with dyed silk.
CONNECTED comments on relationships between families and friends, with works labelled: Blue Loners (1 & 2), Family Ties, Close Friends, and Dependents.
